Newtown Claim Wicklow Times Shield

The final day of the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Wicklow Times Shield North East division was held on October 21st in Bray Emmets. It was an excellent day for football and the girls certainly provided that with some very thrilling and tense games!   In attendance were Scoil Chualann, Kilmacanogue, Roundwood, St.Kevins Greystones, St.Bigids Greystones, Our Lady's Rathdrum, Newtownmountkennedy, kilcoole, St.Peters Bray, Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh and Moneystown N.S. 

Moneystown emerged victorious in group 3 with Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh in second. In group 2 Rathdrum were runners up with Kilcoole just pipping them on points to claim gold. In group 1 Roundwood were runners up with Newtownmountkennedy winning the Wicklow Times Shield. 

Catherine Ni Fhearraigh (Scoil Chualann), Bridget Cox (St.Peters Bray) and Anna Craig (Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh) won the Laoch na hImeartha awards for their respective divisions. 

Comhghairdeas to all who took part and go raibh mile maith agaibh to those who set up pitches and refereed games. There will be more Allianz Cumann na mBunscol girls Gaelic to kick off term 2 in January.
