A Day Never to be Forgotten, Conall Gets on the Scoresheet in Croke Park!

Body:

Conall Barrett, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath and Eire Og Greystones, enjoyed a wonderful day participating in the INTO mini games at Croke Park on Saturday 6th July 2024 at half-time during the Senior All-Ireland Hurling semi-final between Clare and Kilkenny.  Conall wore the colours of Kilkenny CLG on the day and took a lovely point in the game to get on the scoresheet.  Conall had won the opportunity to participate in the INTO mini games by winning the Wicklow Allianz Cumann na mBunscol hurling skills competition alongside Bobby Murphy from Michael O' Dwyers in April at the Wicklow GAA Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill.

On the day, Conall met up with over 40 boys and girls, including his new found friend Bobby Murphy from Michael O' Dwyers, in the Barbara Ward Clonliffe & Croke Park Community Centre at 12 p.m. on the day of the match.  He walked with all his team mates down to Croke Park meeting all the fans going to the hurling and camogie games in Croke Park.  The teams changed in the dressing rooms into the colours of Co. Kilkenny and Co. Clare and then had their photographs taken on the pitch with Cumann na mBunscol Coiste Náisiúnta and the GAA President Jarlath Burns.  Conall took the field with his teammates at half-time in the Senior All-Ireland Hurling semi-final and all the boys and girls were very warmly welcomed onto the pitch by all the supporters.  All the players including Conall and Bobby put on fantastic displays of skill, determination and effort and represented their schools, clubs, county and families with great pride. All the players rejoined their extremely proud families after the game in what can only be described as a day of a lifetime and one never to be forgotten.
