Eoghan Shines in Croker - A Lifetime of Memories on a Day Never to be Forgotten

Body:

Eoghan Fitzgerald had a fantastic day representing his school St Marys SNS, and his GAA club Blessington in the GAA/INTO Cumann na mBunscol Go Games match at half time during the All-Ireland Football final between Armagh and Galway. Eoghan won the Wicklow Skills competition in the Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill in April and he was delighted when he found out he would get to play on All-Ireland final day.

There was great excitement on the morning of the match when he met up with the other participants from all over Ireland. We were made very welcome at the Barbara Ward Community Centre where he found out he would be playing for Galway.

From there he walked with the other players to Croke Park. He received his Galway kit and was delighted to change into it in one of the Croke Park dressing rooms. It made the day very special. They were treated to lunch and after that it was off to get a team photo in front of Hill 16.

Soon it was time to play on the hallowed turf of Croke Park at half time on All-Ireland Final day. He got great cheers from the Galway fans on the Hill when he scored his first point. All the players put on a great display of football.

A lifetime of memories on a day never to be forgotten.

Eoghan would like to thank everyone in Blessington GAA for all their support and good wishes he got in the lead up to his big day in Croke Park.
