Young Hurlers Steal the Show in Primary School Blitz
There was a feast of hurling in Bray Emmets on Thursday 10th October, as a record number of teams attended the annual participation blitz for Wicklow primary schools. 21 teams in total lined out with 34 matches being played. We were blessed with sunshine on the day which allowed for our great game to be played at its absolute best. The enthusiasm and energy on display is testament to all the hard work being put into schools and clubs throughout the county.
The schools represented were St. Cronan’s N.S, St. Josephs N.S, St. Laurence’s N.S, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath, Greystone’s Community N.S, Greystone’s Educate Together, St. Patrick’s N.S, Scoil Chualann, Gaelscoil Uí Cheadaigh, St. Brigid’s N.S and St. Peter’s N.S. Special mention to the Greystones Educate Together players who volunteered to play with St. Brigid's to make up numbers, fantastic sportsmanship! Great credit must also go to all the teachers, parents, our transition year refs, GPOs, as well as Bray Emmets who allowed the use of their facilities on the day. Schools are now busy preparing children for a 1st and 2nd class blitz which will take place in the middle of November.
