33 Teams at Day 1 of Allianz Coughlan Cup!

Body:

Day 1 of the Allianz Coughlan Cup (boys’ football) hosted in Bray Emmets GAA Club was a fantastic success. With 33 teams and over 20 schools taking part, the day was filled with great football and sportsmanship.

A huge thank you to Dave Barry and the volunteers who set up the pitches, the referees who kept the games fair (in particular the Transition Year students) and the teachers who supported the players. Most importantly, the children showed impressive skill and team spirit, making the day truly memorable and enjoyable.

The spring weather really added to the fun, and it was clear that the GAA spirit is alive and well. Games across all four divisions were all very competitive but most importantly the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves and they were a credit to their schools.

Participating schools: Ashford, St. Pat’s, St. Cronan’s, Kilmac, Kilcoole, St. Laurence’s, Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath, Greystones Community National School, Holy Rosary, St. Kevin’s, Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin, Newtown, Scoil Chualann, St. Fergal’s, Greystones Educate Together N.S., Nuns Cross, Ravenswell, St. Brigid’s and St. Peter’s.

We’re already looking forward to the excitement of Finals Day on March 12th in a fortnight’s time!
