Allianz Coughlan Cup Boys Football Finals Day
The Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Boys Football Finals held in Bray Emmets saw 33 teams take to the field, with over 20 schools from North East Wicklow getting involved. The event made use of Bray’s super facilities, which are perfect for days like this.
It was great to see so many numbers participating, with plenty of high-quality football on display and a real sense of energy and enthusiasm throughout the day. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of teachers, parents and members of the committee who volunteered their time to make sure everything ran smoothly.
In the finals, the following teams came out on top. Congratulations to them all!
·
Division 1 (Coughlan Cup): Kilmacanogue
·
Division 2 (O’Riordan Cup): St. Kevin’s
·
Division 3 (Corn de Barra): Nuns Cross
·
Division 4 (Corn Uí Dé): St. Brigid’s
The lads put on some great performances, showing off the skill and enthusiasm that make these events so special. It was an excellent day for the schools, the players, and everyone who came out to support. A special thank you to Dave Barry and the staff in Bray Emmets, who as always had everything set up for the schools as they arrived.
Overall, the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Finals Day was a brilliant showcase of local talent, and it was fantastic to see so many boys enjoying Gaelic football and getting involved in their communities. It was an honour to have Jim O’Riordan, Dave Barry and Pat Daye all there to present the Division 2, 3 and 4 cups to the winning teams. These cups were named in honour of these men in light of the service they have given to promoting Gaelic games in primary schools in the county and we are indebted to them for this, undoubtedly worthy recipients.
