Credit Union Cup – Hurling – 9th April

The 2024 boys' hurling Credit Union Cup for 5th and 6th class will take place on Wednesday 9th April at 10:30am in the Centre of Excellence, Ballinakill. 

Matches will be 9 a-side but can be adjusted depending on the numbers of both teams.

Please let Brendan Doyle, Hurling Officer, know via email/WhatsApp (086 0782403) by 6pm Thursday 3rd April if your school will be in attendance and, if so, how many teams you will be sending.  

If schools could give Brendan an idea of the level of your teams which can help us to put them into a group suitable to their ability. This is especially applicable if you want to play in division 1.

Exact details and fixtures will be sent out on Monday 7th April. 

We will have a mix of Wicklow GAA referees and TY referees on the day.

Every team will play 2 to 3 groups games followed by a final. Depending on the numbers this could look like 1st plays 2nd, 3rd plays 4th in runners up final or 1st from group A of a division plays 1st from group B of the same division etc.

****IMPORTANT – HURLS SHOULD HAVE NO METAL BANDS****

No player can participate in the matches if using a metal band on their hurl. All metal bands must be taped over.

School mentors are asked to check hurls are clear of metal bands (or are taped) before the blitz starts.
