Bearna Chlé N.S. have been crowned the new Credit Union Cup hurling champions after a dramatic final against the defending titleholders, St. Cronan’s N.S. (Bray). In a tightly contested match that went to extra time, Bearna Chlé edged ahead to claim victory by a single point. Also competing in the Credit Union Cup were St. Laurence’s N.S. (Greystones), Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath, Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh (Bray), and St. Brigid’s N.S. The blitz showcased exceptional talent, with many young players tipped as future stars of Wicklow GAA.

In the Corn Uí Mhurchú final, Rathdrum N.S. and Greystones Community N.S. served up another thrilling encounter. Rathdrum emerged victorious on a scoreline of 2-3 to 1-4. The trophy was presented by none other than its namesake, former Cumann na mBunscol Hurling Officer Míchéal Ó Murchú, who praised both teams for their skill and sportsmanship.

Other schools that competed with distinction in the Corn Uí Mhurchú included St. Joseph’s N.S. (Glenealy), Crossbridge N.S., St. Laurence’s N.S. (Greystones), St. Patrick’s N.S. (Wicklow Town), Kilcoole P.S., and Scoil Naomh Bríd (Knockananna).

(Bray), Greystones Educate Together, St. Laurence’s N.S. (Greystones), Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh, and St. Patrick’s N.S. (Wicklow Town). The final saw St. Cronan’s N.S. lift the cup after overcoming St. Laurence’s.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who made the day such a success - teachers, parents, coaches, referees, and all the team at Ballinakill who ensured the pitches were in top condition.
