Wicklow Have a Great Day Out in Portlaoise – Young Journalist Aoife Reporting!
On Monday 16th June 5th and 6th class girls went to a camogie blitz in Portlaoise. The bus ride was enjoyable and quite long. When we got there the man greeted us kindly and showed us our dressing room where we got changed into our Wicklow gear, which was exciting. After that our teachers brought us out to warm up. Our first match was against Kilkenny; we lost but we still had heaps of fun. It was like that for every match but it was wonderful. Every team had 3 games and a final. After all the matches everyone got a burger and a choice of Fanta, 7up or Coke Zero. It was delicious. We were very lucky to keep the shorts and socks as a souvenir of a great day. It was a wonderful experience to represent Wicklow and play other counties. We finished a great day with icecream on the bus ride home.
