Kilcoole win two National Awards!

Body:

Kilcoole Primary School were in Croke Park on Friday 30th November as they had been nominated for two national awards for their Allianz Cumann na mBunscol work.  They had been nominated in The School of the Year category and the Promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture category.  These nominations  recognise the enormous effort that is being put in to promote gaelic games in the school.  Kilcoole came in 1st place for their promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture and in 2nd place in School of the Year category.  This is a huge honour and achievement for the school as this is a countrywide award.  It is testament to the commitment of staff and Principal Joanne McDonagh to the promotion of Gaelic games.  The school also gets great support from Kilcoole GAA and Camogie club, the Wicklow County Coaches, particularly Garrett Doyle and Cumann na mBunscol, Cill Mhantáin.  Cumann na mBunscol, Cill Mhantáin was represented on the night by Jim O’Riordán, Dave Barry and Míchéal Ó Murchú.  A great night was had by all.  Well done to all involved and it’s great to see national success coming to the Garden County.
