Garden County GAA Flag for Primary Schools
All information for earning this flag was sent out to primary schools at the beginning of the school year. This is a reminder of the target areas.
1.
Take part in minimum 2 blocks of 9 weeks Coaching sessions organised by Club/School Link Coach to promote Hurling/Football – Club
2.
Finish each Block of nine weeks coaching with a internal School Blitz in the local GAA Grounds – School & Club
3.
U Can Awards Skill Tests with 5th & 6th Class – School & Club
4.
Attend 5 External Go Games School Blitzes during the year – School/Teachers
5.
Implement ABC Nursery Programme from Junior Infants to 1st Class – Teachers/G.D.A.’s
6.
Appoint a Club/School Liaison Officer to provide regular visits & contact with schools regarding Coaching, Games and Equipment. – Club
7.
Principal/Teacher and School liaison Officer to attend one regional Coffee morning hosted by Wicklow Coaching & Games Development – Club & School
8.
Schools to Promote the Give Respect, Get Respect Programme – School & Club
9.
At least one teacher from each school to attend a coach education course/workshop – School
10.
GAA Club notice board to be active & regularly updated in all schools – Club
All schools that achieve the above will be awarded the Garden County GAA Flag
(Presentation of flag to be made in School with Local Club & County Board)
In addition to the Awarding of the Garden County GAA Flag schools will be entered into a draw for the following.
A. Entry to draw for a full set of School Jerseys
B. Entry to draw for a day trip to Croke Park & Museum with bus included
C. Entry to draw for school to play @ Half Time in Wicklow National Hurling & Football League Game
D. Entry to draw for two county players to visit school and do a coaching session
F. Entry to draw for GAA Equipment for school
Programme must be completed before end of May 2013 for individual School Presentation Ceremony
