Foundation Courses

There will be Foundation Course (Dual Football and Hurling) over 3 nights in Newtownmountkennedy Sports Centre in March.

Session 1 Monday March 4th 7.00-10.15

Session 2 Monday March 11th 7.00-10.15

Session 3 Monday March 25th 7.00-10.15

The Foundation Award is the introductory award for coaches of Gaelic Games. The course is aimed at beginner coaches and will enable participants to assist a coach in the organisation of activities to develop hurling or football.

The course is ten hours in duration and covers four key modules, as well as introductory and conclusion modules. These four modules are:

·        Introduction to Games

·        Skill Development

·        Movement Skills

·        Coaching Children, Youths and Adults

Coaches who attend all modules will receive both a Hurling and Football certificate. 

There is an option to attend either football or hurling modules only (7hour course) and receive the certificate in that relevant code. This will be discussed during session 1.

It costs 10euro per person to attend the course.
