West Wicklow Girls Football Blitz

Over 120 girls took part  the West Wicklow Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Girls 9 A Side Blitz last Friday in Dunlavin Gaa Grounds. Teams from Donard N.S, Dunlavin N.S, Baltinglass N.S, Lacken N.S, Stratford N.S, Grangecon N.S, Knockananna N.S, Hacketstown N.S, Kilbride N.S and Lacken N.S all took part in the blitz in summer like conditions. The aim of the blitz was fun and skill development with teams lining out 9 A Side with no goalkeeper. The scoring system was points only which gave all the girls the opportunity to practice their point shooting from the left and right. It was great to see so many teams take part on the day and the skill level on the day was excellent. Many thanks to all the teachers and parents who travelled to the blitz. A special word of thanks to Seamus Sinnott who had pitches set up and to Tommy Brennan for his help and work with the day.
