Sports Day

Just a few reminders regarding the forthcoming sports day in Charlesland Sport and Recreation Park, Greystones on Wednesday 5th June:

  • Parade begins at 10 a.m. sharp with races commencing immediately afterwards
  • Running shoes must be worn for all track events. No spikes or running shoes with spikes removed are permitted for these track events. Football boots are permitted for the tug o war.
  • Parking – Cars are not to park in Go Gym car park. Use the field to the right just after entering the gate. Large coaches cannot be facilitated in the car park. A drop/go system will be in operation at the mini roundabout outside the front gate
  • Competitors in the long puck must wear helmets
  • Each school is responsible for the supervision and safety of their own participants and supporters
  • Each school is responsible for their own litter – please bring litterbags
  • Access to the toilet facilities will only be permitted under the strict supervision of an adult

Each school has been assigned labels with numbers.  Every label must be marked with the competitor’s school, name, event and age group.

Competitors must be under 8, 9, etc. on January 1st 2013

Long Puck, Long Kick, Long Jump and Ball Throw contests for girls are separate from boys.  In the Long Kick event the ball is kicked from a dead ball position or from hand. Distance wins.  In the Long Puck event the ball is hit from the hands or from the ground. Distance wins.  Competitors may have three attempts in these events.

In section 1 (Track) a competitor may compete in 1 event and the relay race.

In section 2 (Field) a competitor may compete in 1 event only. 

A competitor may not compete in both track and field

There will be no 600m heats – just a straight final.

Medals will be presented after each final.
