ROUNDWOOD CLAIM DIVISION 3 TITLE

Body:

The division 3 boys final took place in Roundwood on Thursday last as Aughrim was unavailable due to Wicklow's game against Meath on Saturday.  Roundwood, Donard, Moneystown and Gaelscoil Blessington did battle for the coveted title of county champions. Roundwood and Donard won their opening games and their next game against each other took on huge significance. Donard opened the scoring with a goal from their first attack and enjoyed early dominance. Gradually the home team began to come to terms with their opponents and by half time had gone ahead by 2 points. The second half was very intense and Donard were unlucky to lose a player. Roundwood held on for a hard earned victory. This game took a lot from both teams and they lost their final games. Roundwood were declared champions over Gaelscoil Blessington by virtue of their victory in the game they played against each other. Gaelscoil Blessington finished runners-up. Garrett Doyle presented the trophy and medals to the respective captains. Many thanks to Liam Keenan and Mossie Gaskin for refereeing the games and to an Tochar GAA club for the use of their pitch on the day.
