Camogie Girls in Croker

Body:

On Sunday 11th August three lucky Wicklow girls represented their county in Croke Park at half time during the thrilling All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final Dublin v. Cork.  The girls were Amy Maher (Naomh Bríd, Knockananna), Aoife Weir (Glenealy NS) and Sara Davis (Kilcoole PS).  The girls qualified to play in Croke Park by participating in a skills competition and they emerged on top in Wicklow.  The exhibition games on show were small sided games which mean greater participation by all players.  A feature of the half-time games was the promotion of the GAA Give Respect-Get Respect iniative where the players proudly wore the Respect logo on their jerseys.  Well done to the girls and hopefully we will see them representing their county again some day in Croke Park!
