Autumn Camogie Blitz
On Wednesday the 23rd of October Bray Emmett’s G.A.A grounds played host to the rescheduled Autumn Allianz Camogie Blitz. There was a fantastic turn out with 7 schools taking part: Kilcoole Primary School, Newtownmountkennedy, St. Patrick’s Bearna Chlé, Rathdrum, Rathcoyle, Scoil Chualann and St. Brigid’s Greystones. The teams were divided into 2 groups and each team had the opportunity to play 3 to 4 matches. The winners from Group 1 played the winners from Group 2, second place played second place and third place played third place. All games were closely contested and a high standard of skill was evident throughout the day.
St. Patrick’s Bearna Chlé emerged as winners from Group 1 and Scoil Chualann came out on top of Group 2. Both teams played in the final which saw Scoil Chualann crowned as overall winners. Each team was also awarded a “Laoch na hImeartha” plaque that was presented to the best player from each team. Well done girls! A sincere thank you to Bray Emmett’s for the use of their facilities, to our three referees, to the teachers, trainers and parents for making the day a great success.
