Allianz Coughlan Competition Day 2

Sixteen schools took part in day 2 of the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Coughlan Cup in Bray Emmets grounds on Wednesday 12th. Despite the cold wet weather the quality of the football was very high with all of the 4 divisions competing enthusiastically and with impressive sportsmanship. It was pleasing to see the gaelscoils featuring on the day with Gaelscoil Ui Cheadigh winning division 4 and Gaelscoil Clocha Liath taking the runners up slot.

Roundwood Primary won division 3 with their neighbours St.Kevins Laragh coming second.

Newtownmountkennedy Primary were victorious in division 2 beating a strong St.Cronans side into second place.

The 4 teams in division 1 battled it out for the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Coughlan Cup trophy with St.Kevins Greystones taking the honours and Scoil Chualann filling second place.

Despite the adverse conditions it was a tremendous day for all. Special thanks to the Bray Emmets club for providing us with their grounds and to Garrett Doyle and his team of refs for all their help and support.
