Camogie Thriving in the Garden County

Body:

On Wednesday the 23rd of September the Allizanz Cumann na mBunscol Camogie League Day took place in Bray Emmets GAA Grounds. Five teams took part in the blitz these included: Kilcoole Primary School, Rathdrum Team 1 and 2, Scoil Chualann and Gaelscoil na Lochanna. The competition was played on a league basis two points for a win and one for a draw. All games were 7 minutes aside and were very closely contested. The girls demonstrated a high level of skill on the day and it was fantastic to see the give respect get respect initiative being implemented at the end of each match. As the day progressed Scoil Chualann finished in second place and Our Lady's National School Rathdrum emerged as deserving winners. Each team was awarded a Laoch na hImeartha plaque that was presented to the girl of the game from each team. Míle buíochas to Bray Emmets for the use of their facilities, to our great referees Mossy and Con and to the parents and teachers who supported the girls on the day.

Well done to all the girls who participated in the blitz it is fantastic to see that camogie is thriving in the Garden County!
