Best of luck Kilcoole, Gaelscoil na Clocha Liath and Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Chill Mhantáin National Awards On Friday 10th March

After the Oscar nominations, now comes the news that teachers throughout the country have been waiting for! It's the nominations for the 2017 Cumann na mBunscol Cornmarket Annual Awards!  This year's Awards Ceremony takes place in the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh.  Results will be announced on the night.

The Garden County has nominations in three different categories this year.  Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Chill Mhantain has been shortlisted in the Public Relations category, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath in the Promotion of Gaelic games and Culture and Kilcoole PS in School of the Year.  This is a huge honour as there are entries for these awards from every corner of Ireland.

'It promises to be a night to remember,' said Bernadette Ryan, Cathaoirleach of Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, speaking at the announcement of the nominations in the various categories.  ' The Awards Dinner takes place on the Friday night and the 2017 AGM is scheduled for the following day, Saturday March 11th. The Awards are sponsored by Cornmarket Financial Services and we are delighted that they have come on board again this year. The Awards recognise excellence in the promotion of Gaelic Games and culture in primary schools throughout Ireland. Entries have poured in from schools throughout the 32 counties and the Awards are testament to the work done by teachers in schools of all types, large and small, urban and rural. It promises to be a great night as old friendships are renewed in advance of the cut and thrust of the AGM!'
