Wicklow bring home 3 National Awards!!
The 2017 Cumann na mBunscol Cornmarket Annual Awards took place in the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh on Friday 10th March.
The Garden County were nominated in three different categories. Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Cill Mhantáin were runners up in the Public Relations category, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath were runners up in the Promotion of Gaelic games and Culture and Kilcoole PS were runners up in School of the Year. This is a huge honour as there were entries for these awards from every corner of Ireland.
The Awards recognise excellence in the promotion of Gaelic Games and culture in primary schools throughout Ireland. It was a great night of celebration and Pete McGrath, the current Fermanagh manager was the guest speaker. The AGM took place the following day. Gaelscoil na Clocha Liath were represented by parents Olive Farrell and Róisín Ní Loinsigh. Kilcoole Primary School were represented by principal Joanne McDonagh and teachers Eve Whyte, Claire Bowden, Martina O’Leary, Tara Walshe and Pamela McDermott. Allianz Cumann na mBunscol were represented by Jim O’Riordán, Sinéad Ní Chrean Loinsigh, Michéal Ó Murchú and Dave Barry. Well done to all involved!
