Another Day Needed to Decide Winners of Division 1 Girls' Wicklow Times Shield
Wednesday 22nd March in Bray Emmets saw the finals of the Allianz Wicklow Times Shield. It was a wet day and conditions were difficult to play in. The girls have to be credited with great determination and tenacity to show off such fine skills in such weather. Division 1 came down to a final between Scoil Chualann and St. Laurence’s but the two teams were well matched and the game ended in a draw. The replay will take place next Thursday at 1 p.m. in Bray Emmets.
Division 1: Gaelscoil an tInbhir Mhoir, Scoil Chualann, St. Laurence's N.S. and Newtown N.S.
Division 2 winners were Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin, runners up St. Kevin’s, both teams with some fine displays. Laoch na hImeartha was Anna Dignam, Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin.
Division 2: St. Kevin's N.S., Kilcoole N.S., St. Brigid's N.S. and Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin.
Division 3 winners were St. Peter’s NS who showed great teamwork, with Greystones Educate Together being worthy runners up. Brigid Cox, St. Peter’s was Laoch na hImeartha.
Division 3: Greystones Educate Together 1, Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin 2, Templerainney N.S. and St. Peter's N.S.
Lastly Division 4 winners were St. Fergal’s, runners up Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh, with some great matches on show. Laoch na hImeartha was Kara Molloy, St. Fergal’s.
