INTO Skills Challenge Regional Results, County Finals on this Monday

The annual Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Cill Mhantáin INTO Skills competition took place in regional venues on the week of the 27th March.   In the North East we were lucky to get some inspirational words from newly crowned All-Ireland champion winning hurler, with Cuala and Dublin, Darragh O’Connell who emphasised the importance of practising skills to lead to improvements in each player’s personal game.

Those who qualified in each region were as follows:

North East Wicklow

Peile na mBuachaillí: Joshua Butler, St Cronans, Darragh Heffernan, Newtown
Peile na gCailíní: Charlotte Nagle, Kilcoole, Martha Lackey, Scoil Chualann 
Iománaíocht: Adam Prunty, St Cronans, Ciaran Kelly, St Cronans
Camógaíocht: Emma Nesbitt, Scoil Chualann, Aibreann Ní Artaigh, Gaelscoil na gClocha Liatha

West Wicklow

Boys Football: Callum McCrea, Rathcoyle N.S, Jack Bookle, Stratford N.S

Girls Football: Aobha Harmon, Rathcoyle N.S, Aoibheann Bailey, Gaelscoil Na Lochanna Blessington

Hurling: Aaron Davis, Hacketstown N.S, James Boland, Tynock N.S

Camogie: Poppy Rose Cullen Dunne, Hollywood N.S, Sophie Kavanagh, Talbotstown N.S

The top 2 pupils in each code from each area will compete in the County Skill Tests scheduled for Monday 3rd April in Wicklow GAA Centre of Excellence, Ballinakill. 

The top performing pupils in the County Skills tests will have the opportunity to represent their school and county during the half-time of selected All Ireland Series games during the summer.  Gach adh orthu uile ar an Luan!
