The Future of Camogie is Bright!

Body:

I mBliain na Gaeilge bhí grá don chultúr agus an Ghaeilge le feiceáil ag bliots camógaíochta Cumann na mBunscol Chill Mhantáin ón méid Gaelscoileanna a bhí ann. The first Allianz Cumann na mBunscol camogie blitz of the year took place in Bray Emmets on Wednesday the 26th of September. In this special year for our national language it was great to see so many Gaelscoileanna attending. We had 12 teams from schools from across the county, a fantastic turnout! Teams from Newtown PS, Kilcoole PS, Scoil Chualann, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath, Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin, Gaelscoil na Lochanna, Our Lady’s Rathdrum, St Fergal’s PS and Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh took part in this participation focused blitz. On a hot sunny day 100+ girls were able to show off their skills, play against new teams and enjoy playing as much camogie as possible. They also got the chance to admire the awards won by Wicklow underage county teams during 2018. Special thanks to all that helped on the day; the referees, Bray Emmets and the set up crew, Wicklow County Camogie Board, teachers/coaches and most importantly the girls who displayed some superb skills. The future of Wicklow camogie is bright if we can nurture and encourage these young players! Looking forward to seeing you all at the next camogie blitz.
