Regional Winners of INTO Skills Challenge, Finals Take Place Next Wednesday

The annual Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Wicklow Skills competition took place in regional venues this week.  Well done to all the participants who did a fine job representing their schools and should be very proud of this achievement.  The skills level continues to increase each year and there was little separating those at the top.

 

The winners of the North-East region were:

Girls football:
Keelin Dood (Newtown)
Katie Ní Churáin (Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh)

Boys football:
Jack Leacy (Roundwood)
Mason Melia (Newtown)

Hurling:
Eoin Lawlor (St Pats)
Paddy Marrinan (Gaelscoil na Clocha Liath)

Camogie:
Nessa Drumgoole (Kilcoole)
Katie Ní Shilatara (Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh)

The top 2 pupils in each code from each region will now compete in the County Skill Tests scheduled for April 3rd in Wicklow GAA Centre of Excellence, Ballinakill at 11am.  All participants are asked to be in Ballinakill a minimum of 20 minutes before kick off.  The top performing pupils in the County Skills tests will have the opportunity to represent their school and county during the half time of selected All-Ireland Series games during the summer, which is a wonderful and exciting opportunity.
