Welcome Back and Fixtures for 2019-2020

Welcome back to the start of another school year.  Let’s hope it’s a happy, healthy and successful one. We have an exciting calendar of events planned for 2019 – 2020 and are looking forward to it.  Well done to those who represented the Garden County in Croke Park during the summer, an amazing achievement, you should be very proud of yourselves.

 

Registration and County AGM

This will take place on the 12th September in Lynhams Hotel, Laragh at 5.00 p.m.

Registration for North-East, South and West Allianz Cumann na mBunscol activities.  The Cost for 2019-2020 school year is 50euro, schools must attend AGM and must be registered to play. Light refreshments will be provided.

Term One – Focus on participation based games

 

Wicklow Times Participation Day (5th and 6th Class Girls Football)

19th September at 11.45 a.m. in Bray GAA grounds – Girls’ football blitz, nine-a-side and no age limit.  Points only no goalkeeper.

 

Allianz 5th and 6th Class Boys Football Participation Day

26th September at 11.45 a.m. in Bray GAA grounds and Kilcoole GAA Grounds/Venue to be confirmed – Boys’ football blitz, nine-a-side and no age limit. Points  only no goalkeeper.

 

Allianz Camogie League Day        

3rd  October at 11.45 a.m. in Bray GAA grounds.  Nine-a-side and no age limit.  Points only, no goalkeeper.

 

Boys’ Allianz Hurling Blitz Day   

10th October - at 11.45 a.m. in Bray GAA grounds.  Nine-a-side and no age limit.  Points only no goalkeeper

14th, 21st  and  28th November in Shoreline, Greystones. 6th Class Young Whistlers can used. These are not mixed teams.

 

Your school will be contacted regarding which date you will be attending.

Term Two and Three –

 

Focus on Indoor Blitzes are participation based;

 

3rd / 4th Class Indoor Boys/Girls’ Football Blitz

 

16th, 23rd  and 30th January in Shoreline, Greystones

 

Indoor football tournament for boys and Girls in 3rd and 4th Class. 6th Class Young Whistlers can used. These teams are not mixed.

 

(The emphasis in this competition is on participation and sport for all, 7 a-side).

 

Schools will attend on 1 of these days. Please let us know if you cannot attend on 1 of these days.

 

Hurling Young Whistlers Course Thursday 16th January. Venue to be confirmed.

 

 

Indoor Camogie 2nd and 3rd   Class.

Thursday 6th February Shoreline Greystones. Young Whistlers Welcome.

Boys’ Football Allianz Coughlan Cup Day 1

27th February Bray Emmets 

           

Nine-a-side and no age limit at 11.45 a.m. 

Goalkeeper. 3points for a point, 1 point for a goal.

 

Girls’ Wicklow Times Shield Day 1

5th March at 11.45 a.m. in Bray – 9 a-side (Teams will be graded on this day.)

Goalkeeper, points worth 3, goals worth 1 point

 

Boys’ Football Allianz Coughlan Cup Day 2      

12th March  at 11.45am in Bray Emmets 

Nine-a-side at 11.45 a.m. This is a competitive competition. Full rules apply.

 

Girls’ Wicklow Times Shield Day 2

19th March at 11.45 a.m. in Bray – 9 a-side (Teams will be in divisions from Day 1 and this is a competitive competition.)  Full rules.

 

INTO Skills Challenge      

(Two pupils per school may participate in each discipline - Boys’ and Girls’ Football, Camogie and Hurling.)

Please note if a child has already played in Croke Park they cannot take part in the skills competition. Participants must be born on or after January 1st 2008

 

Regional events will take place on the week of 20th April and those selected will go forward to a county selection day which will be held on the week of the 27th April in Ballinakill. 

 

May 7th – 3rd and 4th Class Boys/Girls Football

11.45 a.m. in Bray and Kilcoole/venue to be confirmed – One day  nine-a-side football blitz.

 

Credit Union Cup    

14th May at 11.45 a.m. in Ballinakill – One day boys’ nine-a-side hurling blitz.  Competitive based games

 

Allianz Camogie Day         

21st May at 11.45 a.m. in Ballinakill – One day girls’ nine-a-side camogie blitz.  Competitive based games

Sports Day Meeting            

Thursday 4th June at 8.00 p.m. in Newtownmountkennedy Primary School

It is imperative that any school participating in Sports Day 2019 is represented at this meeting
