Boys Football Gets Things Going in South Wicklow

On Thursday 5^th May schools from South Wicklow Allianz Cumann na mBunscol gathered in Ballinakill for a blitz from 10:30am. The focus for the blitz was on participation and it was great to see so many young footballers present on the day. There were teams from Gaelscoil an Inbhir Mhóir, St Brigid’s N.S. Annacurra, Nun’s Cross N.S., Sacred Heart N.S. Aughrim, Avoca, Ballyconnell N.S., Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa Laragh, St John’s S.N.S., Réalt na Mara and Scoil Mhuire na nAird Shillelagh. Thanks especially to Darren Hayden, GDA, who helped organise the blitz and to Rose, a student from Réalt na Mara, who officiated as a “Young Whistler” on the day.
